THE NIGHT ALI DIED
Gritty solo thriller show - 2025
The Night Ali Died is Chris' second multi-award winning solo thriller.
Ali is wanted dead by a vicious London Gangster and is placed under police surveillance for the protection of him and his family, yet for some reason, on one night, Ali decides to sneak out into the night and leave his family behind, sparking a bloody domino effect that ricochets through the sleepy streets of Norwich. Through the brutal accounts of Ali, a henchman, a detective and a mob boss, find out what on earth happened on the night Ali died.
The Night Ali Died premiered at Prague Fringe 2025 and won three awards in its first ever run including a vote as audience favourite. Described as like watching a Tarantino film onstage by Theatreandartsreviews.com, its cinematic style and bold and punchy soundtrack took over the Prague festival with an electric buzz.
Comedy music storytelling show - 2023
Chris consolidated his experiences of working behind bars and in hospitality and has transformed those experiences into hilariously sharp, witty and satirical songs that insightfully poke fun at British pub culture and toxic masculinity in a very harmless and tongue-in-cheek way.
Chris' songs are incredibly lyric heavy, bordering on rap at points. Athough they're full of spoken word poetry and intelligently written, Chris' songs are essentially very silly and are relatable to anyone who's worked in hospitality or spent any time in a pub.
Chris never meant to fall into doing comedy. He was attempting to write a musical about working in a pub, but to use it as a commentary on the racism, sexism and toxic atmosphere that hospitality workers put up with. However, when Chris tried out a couple of these songs at an open mic event, they had people howling and crying with laughter, and so Chris started to do comedy.
In the couple of years since Chris started writing these songs, he has sold out his first comedy club performance as well as completely selling out his New Zealand tour.
